Baked Country Ham
Serves 3 to 5 dozen
Prepare this ham the night before serving.
You will need 1 sixteen-pound country -cured ham (Baltyk
Ham or Black Forest Ham)
Soak ham for about 6 hours in a large pot with water
to lose some of the saltiness. Change the water two
times if possible, than rise well.
Wrap ham in aluminum foil and place on baking sheet.
Preheat the oven to 500 degrees and place the wrapped
ham in a large roasting pan filled with 1 inch of water.
Bake for 45 minutes, then turn off the oven and leave
the ham in the closed oven overnight.
Next remove ham from the oven and remove the aluminum
foil. Serve the ham warm or at room temperature and
cut with a ham-slicing knife into very thin slivers.
Enjoy!
