Farmer Sausages with Brussel Sprouts
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 0.75 kg (about 2 lbs) Brussel sprouts
- 0.60 kg (about 1½ lb) potatoes
- ½ teaspoon cumin seed
- 2 onions
- 1 apple
- 0.05 kg (about 1½ oz) lean smoked bacon
- 2 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil
- 4 Farmer Sausages
- Salt, pepper, green parsley.
Directions:
Clean and rinse Brussel sprouts. Peel potatoes, rinse
and cut to cubes. In a pot bring lightly salted water
to boil. Put potatoes and Brussel sprouts into the pot,
add cumin, cover with lid and cook for 15 to 20 minutes
at medium heat. Peel onions, cut into pieces. Rinse
and apple with water, cut into quarters, remove seeds.
Slice the quarters. Cut bacon into tiny cubes, fry on
a dry frying pan. Add apples and onions, fry for another
5 minutes at low heat, stirring continuously. Heat oil
in a frying pan till the oil reaches high temperature,
add sausages and fry for few minutes overturning the
sausages. Cooked potatoes and Brussel sprouts strain
thoroughly and mix with onions and apple.
Add salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Serve sausages and vegetables on plates. Add with
green parsley.
Serve meal as soon as ready.
Time to prepare: 30 minutes.
