Pea
Soup With Sausages
Time to prepare: 15 minutes. Cooking time:
40 minutes.
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
- 200 g of dried pea
- 200 g of one of Sikorski's products: Farmer's Sausage,
Juniper Sausage, Polish Sausage, Krakow Sausage, Hunter
Sausage or Country Style Sausage 100 g of Sikorski's
Old Fashioned bacon
- onions
- 4 potatoes
- 2 tbsp of regular all-purpose flour
- 5 glasses (1.5l) Winiary beef-vegetable bouillon
or Knorr beef-vegetable bouillon
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 clove of garlic
- marjoram
- salt, Kamis black pepper (or substitute black pepper)
- Prepare 6 glasses (approximately 1.5L) of beef-vegetable
bouillon. Set aside one glass (approx. 250 ml) and
allow to cool.
- Rinse pea with water and put into a pot. Add 2
glasses (500 ml) of the beef vegetable bouillon, bring
to boil and leave for approx. 2 hours.
- Add additional three glasses (approx. 750 ml) of
beef vegetable bouillon and cook.
- Peel potatoes, rinse and cut into cubes. Add to
soup.
- Slice the sausage into strings. Add to soup. Chop
the bacon finely, fry adding one tablespoon of olive
oil. Add fried bacon to soup. Peel the onion, rinse
and chop. Fry in olive oil till lightly golden. Add
to soup. Add marjoram.
- Brown flour and olive oil, mix with remaining glass
(approx 250 ml) of cold beef-vegetable bouillon. Add
to soup and cook. Season with pepper, ground garlic
and salt.
If you like cream style soup, puree some of the
cooked pea and mix into the soup.
